I would very much like chat room functionality as per http://drupal.org/project/chatroom. That module does not yet support D7, but there is a CVS repository for D7. :-)

Hi all,
I've added chatrooms to the wish list - now tracking internally as #AN-22446.
In the meantime, there are several 3rd-party JavaScript chatrooms which might meet your needs. If you find one you like, here are instructions on how to add it to your Drupal Gardens site.

Hi,
what is the proress if chat room? Is it still on the wish list?
Wich JavaScript-Chat do you prefer?
I would like to implement a chat wich is able to handly different chat rooms, to allow to edit these and to save these. An authentication would be nice, but isn't necessary.

Support this and curious too if it is still on the list. I do not really understand the instructions of how to add 3rd-party chatrooms so I hope this will become a bit more simple..

Hello,
We are still actively tracking user interest in this feature, but for a number of reasons, it is unlikely to be added to Drupal Gardens in the near future.
For instance, Drupal Gardens runs on Drupal 7, and at this time, there is not a stable version of the Chat Room module for Drupal 7 available. Further, as George mentioned above, users have found success using third-party solutions for their chat room needs. They often provide the code and instructions, and you simply have to configure your site to accept custom JavaScript.
What I can do, however, is go ahead and add three votes to this Feature Request internally to reflect the recent interest in this topic.
