I need to make my forum available to members only. Am I right in thinking that I just need to allow them to Administer forums under permissions?
I assume I carefully select the other permissions to suit?
Sorry to ask but I have trawled the forums and can't find what i need
thanks very much

Hi Miss Shelly,
Very soon we will have Content Access control. It is something our Engineering Team is testing out at this moment.
As you may know during your forum research, managing permissions for content by role and author is an extremely high-priority feature to implement in Gardens, and we're tracking this at DG-2556.
As a workaround, yes, you could assign specific permissions to your members which would probably include the following Node permissions: view published content, view own unpublished content, Forums: create new content, Edit own content, Delete own content.
You would just need to keep in mind any security implications involved with assigning administer content permissions overall.
Please see our documentation on User Roles and Permissions for further information and best practices.
Hope this helps!

Hi Miss Shelly,
Unfortunately, we do not have an IRC channel for our Gardens support team. Right here in the forums is usually the best place to find us and to reach out for assistance.
If you're interested in more one-on-one tailored support for your Gardens sites, you might consider a Gardens Professional subscription or higher which allows you a certain number of private support tickets that you can file via our internal ticketing system as opposed to posting in the forums.
For more information, please see our Pricing page.
Thanks!

thanks for the info, I just wondered really, I'll stick with the forums as a way of getting to know people. That was my main reason for asking. I am hoping to use DG for some time to come and it's good to talk to people who are working with the same platforms :) thanks very much
