Hi there,

it looks like media gallery does not support multiple galleries on one page!
Is there anything in progress on that?

Hi,

thx for your repliy, but no it's not.

I'd like to have several galleries with their thumbnails, pager, reordering ... on the same site.

Any ideas?

Look at the View that generates the Gallery page and find the the Format setting.  It might be set to teaser.  Clone the page and rename the new page.  In the new page change it to Full Content.  See the difference between this output and the link above.

I didn't spend any time restyling the output, but this might get you in the right direction.

Thx I will take a closer look at your View hint tomorrow.

But the first thing I see is, that by changing the page of one gallery, you change it on all galleries(due to the url parameters)! Should not happen, or?

That's what I meant with "does not support multiple galleries on one page"!

Hello there,
Have you had a chance to attempt accomplishing this through Views? Or are you still trying to find a way to have multiple galleries present on a single page?
I look forward to your response. In the meantime, I will pursue a definitive answer to this topic and follow up on this thread for anyone seeking the same information as you.
Thanks,

Hi ifux,

After peeking into this, I will agree with jlocke that the Views module is the solution to your problem.

To give you a brief outline of the workflow I believe you may desire:

1. Create a new page (where you would like the multiple galleries to reside)

2. Ensure the Views module is enabled

3. Create a view for the gallery content type, and filter it on the specific title of a single gallery (you can use other criteria as well, this is only an example). This view will then be restricted to a single gallery.

4. When creating the view, be sure to select the box "create a block" as well.

5. Create a view in the same manner above for every gallery that you would like on the page; tweak these views as necessary to show the images you would like in the manner you would like.

6. Go to the Blocks configuration page, and configure the block for each View you just created. Set them in whatever regions of the page you would like. If you want these blocks to show only on a single page, be sure to select the option "show only on listed pages", and then provide the path to the page you would like them to be present in the box below.

The above process should accomplish - roughly - the functionality you desire. If you need further help, this issue - http://www.drupalgardens.com/content/add-another-recent-gallery-items-block-videos-sidebar - is similar to yours.

Further documentation can be found at:

Please let me know if you have any further issues. Otherwise, I'd like to mark this issue as resolved.

I noticed that one of the links I offered was no longer a valid link (DG.com/documentation/views). The information resides here:

Hi Emery,

thx for your advices. In the meantime I already realized it with views. But no longer with the media gallery module, I made my own little simple gallery content type.

But if I find some time, I will try it.

Eventough I think that this should be changed. The IDs of the gallery images should be gallery specific, don't you think?!

Thanks,
ifux

Hello,

in a earlier post on this thread Gardner shared this link: http://www.fumcbocaraton.org/gallery/fumc-boca-raton-photo-galleries. Can some please tell me how to create a page with multiple galleries like this. For some reason I can only get one gallery to show up on my gallery page.

Thanks!

Hi kaf78,

You will need to enable the Views module on your site and create a new View as described above by jlocke and Emery Coxe. You should also refer to our documentation on Using Views as suggested above.

That should get you pointed in the right direction!

Thanks for this! Trying it now. I had assumed it was a custom views thing, rather than just a manipulation of the existing gallery content type. Well explained!

Hi-

This is Exactly what I am looking to do. Can you tell me how you created this?

Hi evie,

I put together a screencast showing you how to create a view so that multiple galleries can be displayed on one page:

http://screencast.com/t/IPtga3ef7

Let me know if that helps!

You should also refer to our documentation on Using Views as suggested above.

Thanks!

Stacy,

This screencast was really helpful. Thank you. I was able to replicate this process, but I'm actually looking to produce different pages with different galleries, like so:

<Main Galleries Page>

  <page>Galleries of Natural Stone Walls

        <gallery one>

        <gallery two>

        <gallery three>

    <page>Galleries of Water Gardens

        <gallery one>

        <gallery two>

        <gallery three>

etc.

I've tried to do filtering views by gallery name and placing blocks from each view into pages, as described above, but I keep doing something wrong. I've been attempting this using Emery Coxe's great description but can't seem to get it to work as I'd like. I've also reviewed the Views documentation on Drupal Gardens but end up confused.

Any chance you could augment your screen cast to show how you can filter out certain galleries?

Thank you!!

bangddrum,

As you have added to a thread that is over two years old, it would be appreciated that you create a new thread to address your concern. This would aid and help us in our internal reporting and data tracking.

Also, this isn't really an issue of a problem or a bug, but how to do something. So, the more appropriate forum section would be, How to questions. I am going to move this thread to that section.

Lastly, whether you create a new forum thread or not, I notice that you have mulitiple sites. So, it would be appreciated if you would let us know which one we should investigate and what work, if any, you have created to attempt to set up the display as you would like.

Thanks!
