this is the second time in less than a week the site was down and no maintenance announcements were made.....real bummer!

it would be great if there was some sort of notification....i've wasted alot of time checking and rechecking to see if the site was working again....real, real bummer!

Same here, and I'm having real issues with explaining this to a client who need the website up and running for meetings today.  No notice or advanced warning and all 5 of my websites are down.  Not funny.

I have the same issue here. Do I get rid of these problems if I upgrade my sites? I have been testing drupalgardens for more than a week now to see if I could use it for my clients, but these kind of problems, this often are just too much.

Thanks.

Could someone of the DG team get in touch to give us info on whats going on ? My site is blocked too and I need to access it asap. Thnaks ;)

Nigeldomestic - all of my sites are upgraded, one to professional level, and none of them are working so I don't think it really matters.

However, I would say that normally Drupal Gardens are very good and the problems experienced over the last week aren't an indication of their service as a whole, so I hope it doesn't put you off too much.

sejleverton - Oh snap! I was hoping that if you upgrade, you will get better qos. Also some kind of customer service for european customers would be nice. :)

It seems that its time to start the weekend little early then.

Yes the problem does not know of plan levels.

The problem should be in a physical server hosting many of our sites. Perhaps a broken cpu, misconfiguration in the server, or someone just unplugged the LAN cable :P

I bet that the problem came because they upgraded the database software :P

Making tickets or complaining in forums wont make the difference now, they already know something is wrong and I am sure they are trying to fix it ASAP.

This week has been a terrible experience, otherwise there service & responses have been timely & good! I even tweeted about it!

Is Drupla Garden still functioning as a company because they don't answer any of these comments. This is worrying!!!

I think they're East Coast USA , so hopefully we'll get a response shortly.  They're usually very good at getting on to things quickly.

Seeing 2 nignx errors with my site. This is 12:09pm Thursday (GMT).

It would be helpful if Acquia would monitor these forums or post an outage notice somewhere. Pair Networks has an example of a good System Notices page.

Also, on the one site we're developing. They're Boston based. they have to know by now. I wish they would put something in the Announcement that they are working on it and will resolve instead of leaving us to assume blindly. I posted a tweet this morning asking if anyone else had issues before I came here. I wonder if it's only a few sites.

It does show a certain level of professionalism that they are not  letting us know they are working on it.

Hello everyone,

Some of Amazon's servers are experiencing errors right now. Operations and engineering are working as fast as possible to get everything working again.

I will update here as more information becomes available.

And apologies for the delayed response. We do monitor these forums very closely, but this incident has pointed out that we need a way to get these notices out in some more reliable fashion if we have another incident of this magnitude.

We'll be looking into this further - tracking internally as  #AN-25250.

Just seen the twitter post.  Looks like this problem has been resolved.  Could take a while for all the sites to come back up, though.

Hi!  I'm not trying to throw gas on the fire, but does this (downtime) happen much?  The reason I'm asking is, I'm new here, and was considering using Drupal Gardens for some of my clients' websites, but don't want to give a bad impression.

Thanks...

This is the first outage of this magnitude that I've experienced, and I've been using the site for a over 6 months now.

OK good, I'm glad to hear that because I'm really liking the ease of setting sites up.

I am evaluating and this is a bad impression. I could not get past choosing my domain without it crashing. On to the next product to test.

I think this does not have anything to do with drupal gardens reading what they said. If Amazon, the one who hosts the servers, have problems, DG should ask Amazon.

I have been using this site for over a year and that is why I have chosen it for hosting a friend's page, the service was really good.

But yeah, if this takes long like it seems has, some courtesy days for paying members would be welcome.

Hi all,

We are still working hard with Amazon to restore service. As mattgc says, this is the largest outage we've ever experienced, so this is an extremely uncommon event.
