Hi Bernard Jean,

Are you still experiencing the same level of performance issues? I accessed your site and cleared the cache -- all seems to be running smoothly from my side.

Our engineers are aware of the situation so please let us know if the problem persists.

Thanks very much.

Hi Stacy,

I just tested on all three browsers (Safari, Firefox and Chrome), now the situation is good, the access time is normal.

I monitor the situation.

Tonight at 00 pm 57 hours of NY, the site is inaccessible, like yesterday. Can not work on it.

Slow indeed - NYC, decent hardware/software/network combo. All times of day & night. D.G. is bordering on unusable if you have a task list to address.

It is 8 o'clock this morning and access to my pages and really slow, even with a connection tovery high speeds. Today I will get my contract 6 Mbps to 25 Mbps, to try to gain speed in order to work on. For the current state is impossible.

My sites are also loading very slowly, or I'm getting "Service Temporarily Unavailable"

The sites are:

http://storydems.drupalgardens.com (cleared the cache, but no improvement)

http://dawn.drupalgardens.com (can't even log in to clear the cache)

Hi all,

We've had several reports of performance issues today and yesterday. Our Engineering Team is continuing to investigate and monitor the situation.

I know that some of you have cleared all caches for your site, but if you have not done so, please go to Admin > Configuration > Development > Performance to clear the cache.

Please keep us posted, and we'll post back here as well when we have any further information.

The operation is done, but it does not change anything. The opening page is so slow that the site is no longer accessible.

Hi Bernard Jean,

Are you still referring to this site:  http://bjp.drupalgardens.com?

What browser and Operating System are you working in as well? That information is helpful for troubleshooting purposes.

Thanks!

I am a designer in Boston and am having trouble on one particular account but not on others.

site rosebear.drupalgardens, for user mflach, was really slow.

Checked other accounts:

site 3pathhealing.com for user jovielle was fine

site onsiteorganics.com for user brovics was fine

Tried creating a new site for user mflach: created rosebear2.drupalgardens and it is really slow

Still big problems for access to this site:
http://bjp.drupalgardens.com/

We now have an Internet connection of 16 Mbps, without having a better result.
This site is currently unusable.

The second site that is a big problem is:

http://neuroaxis.drupalgardens.com

These are the two sites that are beginning construction.

So three days since we can not develop them.

But I can ajputer to the list:
http://respir.drupalgardens.com/

The problem becomes very very very urgent because we have this:

"Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporairement Unable to service your request due to maintenance downtimeor capacity problems. Please try again later. "

I just signed up and paid for the basica anual service.  All night the site had been buggy and extreemly slow.  I am frustrated beyond belief.  I thought this was supposed to be some kind of wonder wysiwyg.  I am pretty dissapointed and wonder if I should be asking for my money back.  Also the number of themes is rather pathetic.

Ugh.

Arrgghh!  I have wasted several hours on this tonight.  I give up.  I'm going to bed.  Given what I have read here on this forum, the problem of impossibly slow server time is both real and has lasted for several days.

Ugh Ugh!

Hi lynksnap,

We definitely understand your frustration with the performance issues, and we're sorry for the inconvenience.

After a thorough investigation, our Engineering Team discovered  that one of our database clusters recently became overburdened, and we are adding additional hardware to mitigate the issue which should be resolved shortly.

We do appreciate your patience as we continue to address these performance issues.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Hi there,

A small subset of customers were impacted by an overburdened database cluster which affected site performance.

Resources have been allocated to take pressure off those affected sites. We added servers, and things should be much better; however we see that there is more we can do to move some sites off of a crowded DB server and into less crowded servers.

We are working towards a resolution for that as well in the coming days.

In the meanwhile, let us know if you experience any more severe performance issues.

Thanks very much.

Best regards,

Hi Stacy,

I noticed improvements, by time of day the site works very fast. But tonight, for example it is 3 amand the site is very very slow and even inaccessible. For me the problem remains. We mustquickly find a permanent solution:

The problem also arises under construction on this site can not access them this morning:
http://neuroaxis.drupalgardens.com

Impossible to work on:
http://bjp.drupalgardens.com/

We have this:
Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporairement Unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime orcapacity problems. Please try again later.

I do not know how to function, it becomes very serious.

Hi Stacy,

This morning the site is set up my speed is 25 Mbps. But the situation is as follows:

http://bjp.drupalgardens.com/: access time too long, if not impossible.
http://neuroaxis.drupalgardens.com: access time too long, if not impossible.
http://respir.drupalgardens.com/: too long.
http://bernardjean.drupalgardens.com: long, but acceptable.
http://bbc.drupalgardens.com: Correct.
http://monalindsay.drupalgardens.com: Fast.
http://www.vertgaia.com: fast
http://www.ezdietrecipes.com: Fast.
http://marcheafghane.drupalgardens.com: very fast.
http://www.etiennemarchand.com: very fast.

See why the first 4 sites in the list are very slow, and I find a reliable solution to solve the problem. There is a problem of server management servers, probably due to costsdragged down with Amazon Web Services. It seems that the sites in achieving free subscriptions are slower than with production sites in pay packages. There is there a link.

Hi Bernard Jean,

The first three sites listed above are the ones located on the overburdened cluster called tangle 004. Your other sites are on tangles 6, 7, and 8 which are performing normally. Our Engineering and Operations teams are still working on the issue.

Please see this Important Announcement posted on Friday and updated yesterday about ongoing site performance.

Further updates will be added to the Important Announcements forum as we have status updates.

Thanks for your continued patience.

I just want to jump on this bandwagon that I, too, experience significant server slow down. I just started subscription a week ago. I couldn't work on the site at all last night. I have a March deadline to get my site developed. there' still a ton of work and I can only work on it part time.

So I, too, hope that this performance problem gets solved soon. Or I will have to reduce the number of features I deliver significantly.

Thank you.

yoshinga February 7, 2012

Only part of the website is in accessible. In my case, I am able to get to Administration, some simple pages. But when I try to get to a page with more blocks, I get "connection timeout".

It feels like a database problem.

My company's site had similar problem (we of course just run a single database server). And we simply bounce the database server to correct it. Not suggesting this is what you should do, but it certainly is effectively short-term.

Hi yoshinga,

Thanks very much for letting us know about your situation. Your site is, in fact, included within that small subset of sites that have been impacted by extremely slow site performance due to the crowded database grouping on tangle 004.

We're continuing to work on a fix for the problem, and all status updates for this issue can be found within the latest post in the Important Announcements forum.

Thank you for your patience.

Yo,

I gave up and have moved on.  This problem dates back and I am pretty surprised that a company like Acquia is capable of tanking a customer base like this.

Best of luck to you I hope that you can get going soon.  We have moved back to wordpress.

This raises an important question for me, on whether to continue development atDrupalGardens. A week of big disturbance is totally incomprehensible. We do not knowall the details of the financial situation between DrupalGardens and Amazon WebServices, but I do not fault it for 8 days move sites from one server to another. Myconfidence is shaken strongly DrupalGardens, I can not afford to shipping back customersin such an adventure.

I would like more information about the real reason for this problem that lasts.

LOL at the name "Tangle 004" is that really a server name?  tsk tsk...

I'm trying to clear my cache as you suggested... been 5 mins waiting for the page to load (5mins to get to each of the links you listed.... *sigh*)

This post was dated Feb 3, and it's Feb 9, so I assume these performance issues are still on-going.

You guys will get it all fixed I'm sure, but please make it fixed 5 mins ago!!! :)

Unbelievable. Here I was yesterday evening trying to convince my client to stay with DrupalGardens as they seem to have fixed the slowness issue, rather than export to another web server,  and right now their site is tremendously slow again. I'm assuming her site survivorsfoundation.drupalgardens.com is on the overloaded server?

mrothmay February 9, 2012

All my sites are down this morning. Completely inaccessable.

yoshinga February 9, 2012
10:55am

Did this happen before? I can forgive the company if this is part of the growing pain and so far they have run well. But if this has happened before, then I will have to move on.

I have one question for Stacey, what happens if I upgrade my subscription to the next level? Will there be an automatic mechanism that will move my site out of this joint?

And will I be able to move it back (downgrade) after they fix the problem?

I'm willing to because this site is very important to my client and they really need a big win at the beginning of March. There's a domino effect of a failure here.

Bernard Jean February 9, 2012

For information, this morning my site is down:
Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporairement Unable to service your request due tomaintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

And also:
http://neuroaxis.drupalgardens.com

This is a very crippling situation that challenges my strategy regarding my partnership with DrupalGardens.

I started to have trouble on Feb. 1, see the beginning of this post. We are February 9, means are not properly put in sufficient numbers to cope with this big problem. For me it is totally incomprehensible.

Hi Stacy,

Indeed we have a better level of open pages. But there is a delay in the opening pages, as hesitation, like a lock and then the page opens. So I can say that yes there is an improvement.

I currently have a very high speed connection; dowload speeed = 210 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps. But still, the opening is still relatively slow, but it is possible to work on files.

Thank you for your message.
