Hi there,
I'm having a problem getting the dropdown menus on my site to appear correctly. The spacing of various items in the dropdown menus (for "Programs" and "About") change on mouseover, etc. It seems that the "Borders & Spacing" settings are off but the numbers seem to match in the theme builder "Padding" fields.
I did notice, however, that the value for the top padding is one value when I click on one of the dropdown links, then it changes to another value when I move my cursor from the top part of the screen down to the theme builder area below.
How can I get these menus to display consistently?
Also, I'd like the width of the "Program" dropdown menu to be different from the width of the "About" dropdown menu. Is that possible?
Thanks so much!
Roger

Hello agent86,
I will take a look at this and post back as soon as possible with my findings.

agent86,
I've taken a further look at your site. Here's what I would suggest.
You can go to the Appearance panel and use the Advanced tab. Using the Styles tab, you can temporarily hide or delete styles. I would suggest that you save a version of your site as it is and then on a new version you could clear out the menu stylings and start fresh. You would have a previous version to revert to if you needed it.

Hi David,
Thanks for your advice. I tried looking at the Styles CSS section on the Advaned tab. I tried to hide each item with #navigation-region one at a time to see which one might be the culprit. Ultimately, I didn't find any that solved the problem. This one:
#navigation-region li a:hover
padding-top: 0px
did seem to help somewhat but the dropdown menu items are still a little "jumpy"—i.e. the text changes position on hover.
With so many different listings for #navigation-region, I'm a bit lost.
Also, how do I get the various dropdown menus to have different widths?
Thanks again,
Roger

Hello Roger,
I've noticed that you manage to put the navigation menu under the banner (logo block in the header), I'm trying to do the same for my website by adjusting the margins of the navigation menu with high numbers. Finally, I had a result that looked good on Chrome but on Firefox it's upside down! I think I'm not using the proper technique, there may be a easier solution and I've just seen that it works fine on your website. Would you share any advice by any chance? I am in a deadlock. Thank you so much.
Goodbye.

Hi Benoit,
I'm afraid I might not be much help. Getting the desired look and feel for my site has been a work in trial and error (and lots of searching through these forums looking for issues similar to mine).
I don't recall having to change anything to get the navigation to reach across the whole header. Maybe it's because of the size of my logo image.
I think what you're trying to do is get the purple navigation menu to extend under the photo of the doctor. I'm wondering if the size of the photo might be the problem.
In my case, I used an image for the logo but not for the text in the header region. The text is from the "site name" and "site slogan" elements.
In your case, I wonder if it might work to incorporate the photo of the doctor into the rest of the header and hide the site logo block.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Good luck!
Roger
