Hi,
I know this issue has been submitted a few times already, but I believe I have tried most of the suggestions & still have the issues. I also just tried to submit this but it I think it fell over, so appologies if this is the second submition.
Anyway, I am getting the following error when I try to access the Theme Builder via the Appearnace tab:
Navigate to the front page or any other non-administrative page and click the Appearance link in the toolbar in order to open the theme builder.
You must have javascript enabled in order to use the theme building functions in Drupal Gardens.
I have tried the following:
Accessing it via the front page as it suggests.
Accessing it via other pages on my site.
Making sure Java is enabled.
Turned themes on & off.
Removing the banner as I wasn't using it & read a post that said it can cause issues.
I thought it was the Amazon adds & Creative Commons stuff I added, so I removed that. (I have since put it back)
Cleared both browser & site cache.
I have used IE 8 & 9
I suspect that it is J Query related but I do not know enough about coding to be sure. The best thing about Drupal Gardens is that you do not need to know coding. (Unless you have issues I guess)
My site is www.nirimba.net or http://nirimba.drupalgardens.com
Cheers,
Shayne

Hi Shayne,
Are you still experiencing issues accessing ThemeBuilder?
I was unable to recreate the message you received, nor did I receive any errors when opening the ThemeBuilder which launched fine within the latest version of Chrome and IE8.
I did notice that you have a new theme update which you should definitely preview and save as in order to have the latest version of the theme running with the newest feature enhancements and bug fixes.
Here are screenshots showing where you can update to the most recent theme version:

https://skitch.com/e-stacywray/g6dge/windows-xp-ie8 (IE8/WinXP)
Once you've updated your theme and cleared your cache by going to Admin > Configuration > Development > Site Performance, please let us know if you continue to experience any issues.
Thanks very much!

I was having this problem consistently under Firefox and Chrome, not being able to launch the theme builder for the front page. I was able get the theme builder opened, but only by clearing the front page URL settings in the Site Information config page (i.e. so it uses the default value), opening the Appearance tab to make & save my change, and then restoring the front page URL settings.
This does appear to indicate the Theme Builder will not open up if you have a custom front page URL specified.

Hi Shayne1973,
I'm wondering if you're still experiencing issues or if updating your theme cleared up any problems?
Hi westbywest
Would you mind providing the URL to the site you were having this issue on? I'd like to go in and take a look. What was your default home page set to before you removed the settings?
Thanks very much!

Hi Stacywray,
Here is the site:
http://gga.drupalgardens.com
Here is the custom URL I had the front page set to:
http://gga.drupalgardens.com/front-page
The problem still persists. I can not open the theme builder on the front page, while the front page is set to a custom URL.
Thanks.

Hi westbywest,
I've been looking into this issue on your site, and I'm wondering what the difference is between the content on /front-page as opposed to just the default feed of gga.drupalgardens.com?
The only difference I see is that the rotating banner actually works when you are using the default home page without /front-page. Yet, when you set your home page to /front-page, the rotating banner does not rotate.
I went into your content index and tried most of your different content node paths as the default front page and was able to successfully open ThemeBuilder - for example: content/world-food-day-monsanto-world-headquarters-1 or content/monsanto-world-hqtrs-world-food-day. There does not seem to be an issue with setting the default home page to a custom URL.
So if anything is wrong it just seems to be with /front-page. Since your site actually seems to perform better using the default feed without /front-page, you could just use the default home page. The other option is to create a new front page named something other than /front-page and see if you're having the same issue with ThemeBuilder not opening.
Hope this info helps, and let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hy stacywray,
The "front-page" URL is a page display for a view, which displays news items in chronological order. I can see that this makes it nearly identical to the default Drupal front page function. I was still configuring / tweaking that view at the time.
Could the problem be with Theme Builder not playing well when a custom view (as opposed to a simpleview or a specific node) is set be the front page URL?

Hi westbywest,
Problem fixed! I enabled AJAX in your Advanced settings within your Front Page View display which seemed to do the trick.
Now, your rotating banner works using /front-page as your default home page, and there is no problem launching ThemeBuilder.
